ژ—zhe—zh

‘zhe’ (ژ) is pronounced like the ‘ge’ at the end of the word ‘beige’ in English, but is often written as ‘zh’ when transliterating Persian into English. It has exactly the same base form as ‘re’ (ر) and ‘ze’ (ز), except this time with three dots drawn above it.

In this video Keramat shows you how to write ‘zhe’ (ژ) in a Persian style of handwriting, with three examples of words showing the letter in different positions:

at the beginning, ژله—zhele—jelly
in the middle, مژه—mozhe—eyelash
at the end, بیژ—beizh—beige
