ظ—zā—z
zā’ (ظ) in Persian is pronounced like a ‘z’ in English, exactly the same as the other Persian ‘z’ letters, ‘zāl’ (ذ) and ‘ze’ (ز) and ‘zād’ (ض). It also follows the form of ‘tā’ (ط), with a single dot added above.
In this video Keramat shows you how to write ‘zā’ (ظ) in a Persian handwriting style, with three example words that show the letter in different positions:
at the beginning, ظرف—zarf—container
in the middle, نظم—nazm—arrangement
at the end, خدا حافظ—khodā hāfez—goodbye
