‘pe’ (پ), the third letter of the Persian alphabet, is pronounced exactly like a ‘p’ sound in English, and in its shape is almost identical to ‘be’ (ب), except that it has three dots below it, instead of the single dot for ‘be’ (ب). In this video Keramat shows you how to write the letter in a Persian style of handwriting, with three examples of words showing the letter in different positions:
at the beginning, پسر—pesar—boy
in the middle, هواپیما—havāpeymā—plane
at the end, سوپ—soop—soup
