ح—he—h
The eighth letter of the Persian alphabet, ‘he’ (ح) is like an ‘h’ in English. It is exactly the base shape we see in the letters ‘jim’ (ج) and ‘che’ (چ), except with no dots. In fact, it is sometimes referred to as ‘he jimi’ (ح جیمی), ‘the jim-like he’, to distinguish it from ‘he do cheshm’ (ه دو چشم), ‘the he with two eyes’ which comes near the end of the alphabet—the pronunciation of these two letter, in Persian, is the same.
In this video Keramat shows you how to write the letter in a Persian style of handwriting, with three examples of words showing the letter in different positions:
at the beginning, حوله—holeh—towel
in the middle, صبحانه—sobhāneh—breakfast
at the end, صبح—sobh—morning
